It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

Welcome friends!

I'm Tracy and this is my blog. It's a mix of photography, art, writing, and life as I see it in 2011. Enjoy!

A day at the beach...

Today we woke up and drove straight to the beach.  It was a cool 17 degrees C with a fair bit of wind.  Perfect for kiteboarding and since I'm married to a kiteboarder heading to the beach was the obvious choice for some Monday morning (and afternoon) fun.  To be honest after the surgery on my hand and the skin cancer business I was thinking my beach days were numbered.  I've always worn sunscreen and since it obviously didn't give me the protection I was hoping for, the thought of spending the day at the beach was not so appealing.

That thought lasted all of five minutes.

On the way to the beach we stopped and picked up a sun shelter/tent.  It was perfect for a sunny day at the beach and as an added bonus it did a great job of blocking the wind.  The girls and I snuggled up with books and blankets and watched Darin kiting.  Then the girls and Darin went for a swim.

What a beautiful day!

See those little black dots way out there?  That's them.  No way was I going out there, it was freezing!
